Blackwater is gunning for its third straight victory on Wednesday and hopes to get it at the expense of the beleaguered Star squad in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Elite coach Leo Isaac banks on their momentum as the young team seeks to extend the franchise’s first streak to three games.
“[We’ll use the] same approach as in our last game,” said the Blackwater mentor in the PBA website.
“We will give our very best to get a win versus Star. A win tomorrow (Wednesday) will give our franchise its first three straight wins in the PBA,” added Isaac.
The Elite will be coming off a 107-101 victory over the shorthanded Alaska Aces last Friday.
The Hotshots, anchored by James Yap, Marc PIngris, Mark Barroca and former Best Import Denzel Bowles, have yet to win a game in the tournament.
Their 99-106 loss to NLEX last Saturday was the Hotshots’ third straight loss.
But Star coach Jason Webb said a first win will turn things around for the squad.
“We’re just looking for one win and take it from there,” said Webb.
“Hopefully we get it tomorrow.”
