The Philippine national football team rebounded from their loss against Syria with a 4-1 beating of Guam in the second round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Angel Guirado and Patrick Reichelt each scored a goal in the first half of the match that took place at Guam’s home turf.
Staphan Schrock scored a follow up, while Patrick Strauss closed the game for the Azkals, which lost its opener against Syria last week, 5-2.
Marcus Lopez scored the lone goal for Guam.
The Philippines hopes to finish on top of their group, or at a least have one of the best four runner-up records among the 8 groups, to advance to the next round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
