Team Lakay’s Geje Eustaquio plans to unveil a new version of himself when he begins his comeback trail in ONE: Enter The Dragon in Singapore on May 17.

The former ONE championship flyweight king will take on South Korean Kim Kyu Sung in a bid to bring himself back in contention for another title shot.

“I plan to bring a new version of Geje. A smart one, a hungrier Geje,” Eustaquio said. “I consider this as a new era for me, another opportunity, another chance to pave the way to becoming a world champion again.”

It will his first fight since losing the crown to Brazilian Adriano Moraes in a trilogy match in Manila in January.

Eustaquio acknowledged that his South Korean opponent might not be a walk in the park. Kim holds a 9-2 record with 8 of his wins coming via stoppage.

“They say he’s the best flyweight in South Korea,” said Eustaquio.

Even after the Moraes fight, Eustaquio didn’t stop training to make sure he’s ready in case ONE calls him up.

“I still go to the gym, work with my jiujitsu, wrestling and striking. Work on my game planning,” he said. “I have my son, I enjoy every minute I spend with him.”
