MPBL: Manila cruises, stops Muntinlupa’s winning streak

Former PBA player Marvin Hayes shone brightly in the Manila Stars—Robust Energy Capsule's rout of the Muntinlupa Cagers—Angelis Resort 100-86 in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup at Muntinlupa Sports Complex on Wednesday.

Hayes tallied 18 points and 7 rebounds for the Stars on the road, dealing the Cagers their first loss in 9 games.

Manila, which also got 17 points from Reil Cervantes and 16 from Chris Bitoon, upped its record to 9-2.

In the first game, Jan Jamon scored 27 points to lead the Pasay Voyagers to a 79-75 win over Imus Bandera—Glc Trucks & Equipment.

Pasay raised its record to 4-7, while Imus fell to 5-5.
