PBA: Balanced attack keys Magnolia rout of Columbian Dyip

Vernon Macklin led 6 Magnolia players in double-digit scoring with 19 points, as the Hotshots had little trouble downing Columbian Dyip 126-101 in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday.

The win upped Magnolia's record to 2-1, while Columbian dropped to 3-3.

The game wasn't close for long. 

From a 13-8 lead, Magnolia went on an 11-3 run to widen the gap to 24-11 and stayed in front the rest of the way, even going up as big as 38 points.

Macklin missed only once in 8 shots.

Mark Barroca and Paul Lee each finished with 17 points, with Lee chipping in 3 3-pointers and 8 assists for Magnolia, which shot 58% from the field, dished out 28 assists and scored 64 points inside the paint.

Columbian shot a paltry 38% from the floor, and finished with only 15 assists and 36 points in the paint.

John Fields tallied 22 points and 19 rebounds to lead the Dyip.
