MANILA – Darren Espanto earned the admiration of no less than Regine Velasquez for his singing prowess.
On Twitter, the veteran singer could not help but gush about Espanto after they did a duet of Ariana Grande’s “Almost is Never Enough” and Nathan Sykes’ “Over And Over Again” on “ASAP Natin ‘To.”

Velasquez’s post immediately earned hundreds of retweets, likes and replies from Espanto’s solid fans generally thanking the Asia’s Songbird for her good words for their idol.
Espanto, who is now a mainstay of “ASAP Natin ‘To,” began his showbiz career after he finished runner-up in the first kids’ edition of “The Voice of the Philippines.” A four-chair turner, Espanto was mentored by Sarah Geronimo on the show.
