MANILA, Philippines – Fans of the Adamson University Lady Falcons received a bit of good news before Christmas when star spiker Jema Galanza revealed that she can soon join the team in their training sessions.
Galanza suffered a gruesome injury to her right ankle back in September, when the Lady Falcons were competing in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference.
She was initially diagnosed with a broken ankle, but further tests showed no fracture. Since then, Galanza has been working hard to try and be ready for the upcoming UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball tournament.
“Ngayon, tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang therapy ko,” said Galanza in an interview with Akari Sports on Twitter.
“Pero last one week na lang before ako bumalik ulit sa training,” she revealed. “I’m so excited na makabalik ulit.”

Galanza was the lone bright spot for Adamson in Season 79, which saw the Lady Falcons win just once in 14 games.
But the future appears bright for Adamson as they head into Galanza’s final season of eligibility. They welcome back former stars Mylene Paat and Fhen Emnas, while transferee Eli Soyud is set to make her debut for the Lady Falcons.
