MANILA — “It’s Showtime” hosts were not spared Wednesday from doing the noontime program’s traditional “sample,” where segment judges show their talent in singing or dancing.
This time, mainstays Anne Curtis, Vice Ganda, and Karylle performed the popular “Spaghetti” dance of the dance group SexBomb Girls, with original member Sunshine Garcia teaching them the choreography.
The pop culture favorite came up after the SexBomb-inspired performance of a group in the “Sampu-Sample” competition. Garcia happened to be one of the judges that day.
The hosts’ “sample” of the SexBomb hit is notable, as the girl group rose to popularity via “Eat Bulaga,” the rival program of “It’s Showtime” that airs on GMA-7.
Candid mentions of the Kapuso show, as well as its mainstays dubbed “Dabarkads,” are not new on “It’s Showtime,” with Vice Ganda time and again advising viewers, in jest, to switch channels when mishaps happen during live episodes.
